WHAT IS GROUP THERAPY?

Did you know that group therapy has been around for over 100 years?

It has been long known that human beings do not function in isolation. Rather, they are instead surrounded by relationships that inspire us to grow or suppress our development. At all times, each of us is a member of one or more groups, such as family, friends, work, religious organization, and more.

Group therapy allows us to become aware of everyday group dynamics. By starting group therapy, you will be embarking on a journey of self-discovery that will help you understand how groups affect your growth in ways that are both effective and ineffective, how they increase depression, worsen your stress, and more. Simultaneously, groupwork will teach you how the same groups can spark your development, find meaning, and lessen your struggles with depression, anxiety, and more. Don’t wait — invest in yourself and join one of our groups!

WHICH IS THE RIGHT GROUP FOR ME?

Interpersonal Process Groups – These groups are closed (that is, there is a commitment, and only on occasion does someone leave/join the group). Through the process, you will gain insight into yourself and how you make your way in the world, deepen your self-disclosure and increase your ability to provide and take feedback, ultimately enhancing your connection with others and improving yourself and your relationships. This group is generally long-term.

Psychoeducational Groups – These groups can be “open or closed”. Such groups are ideal for learning new skills to address specific areas such as depression, anxiety, grief, and many others. These groups are generally short-term. Please note that some psychoeducational groups integrate some process as well.
